Lead Teachers & Teacher's Aid
Once Upon a Time Child World is looking for . 


LEAD TEACHER:
You will need to be able to create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to
learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for upper elementary grade education in accordance with each student's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members:

1) Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
A. Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to students in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities.

B. Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter.

C. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.

D. Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.

E. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.

F. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

G. Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.

H. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress and interpret the school program.

I. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.

J. Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.

K. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by professional growth activities.

L. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which the teacher will be evaluated in conformance with guidelines.

M. Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.

N. Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.

O. Administers group standardized tests in accordance with state testing program.

P. Participates in curriculum development programs as required.

Q. Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities

    Must be at least 18 years of age

    12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) credits required or Child Development Associate (CDA)

    Must be familiar with licensing rules and regulations
    Must be willing and able to develop and implement developmentally age appropriate lesson plans.

TEACHER'S AID:
    The person selected for this position will be responsible for assisting a classroom teacher in the general supervision and management of the children. The person selected for this position shall be at least 18 years of age, in the process of becoming professionally prepared to supervise young children, and must meet the requirements of the licensing agency. This person must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and employees, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's educational philosophy. The person selected for this position shall be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.

    RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to the following:
    1. Assisting in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the teacher.

    2. Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed materials and supplies.

    3. Supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.

    4. Helping with general housekeeping and kitchen task.

    5. Assisting the teacher in any other appropriate ways.

    6. Maintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to the school.

    7. Treating all children with dignity and respect.

    8. Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.

    9. Participating in professional workshops that work for the improvement of early childhood education.

    10. Maintaining confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school.

    11. Supervising outside playground activities.

    12. Helping with the operations of audio/visual aids (projectors, etc.).

    14. Follow directions given by head teacher or immediate supervisor.

    15. Help with daily cleaning. (Classroom, bathrooms, hallways, & ect.)


    To be considered for these positions, you must meet all State Licensing requirements listed below:

    Must be at least 18 years of age
    Must have HS diploma or equivalent

    TB test through your local health department or personal health care provider is mandatory prior to start date (no exceptions must be current!)
